What does Mezo cost for patients?
Searching, comparing, and managing appointments is free. When you book, you pay the doctor's consultation fee and nothing on top: no booking fee, no subscription. You see the full cost before you confirm.
How do I know the doctors are real?
Mezo checks each doctor against the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) register: folio number, licence status and specialty. Doctors whose check is complete carry an MDCN checked mark on their listing.
Can I use my HMO?
Yes. Many doctors on Mezo accept HMO plans. You can filter by HMO during search and pay directly through your plan, with no out-of-pocket cost if you're covered.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
You can cancel or reschedule from your dashboard up to 24 hours before your appointment at no charge. Late cancellations are subject to the doctor's policy.
Is my health data safe?
Absolutely. All data is encrypted with AES-256-GCM, both at rest and in transit. We are fully NDPA (Nigerian Data Protection Act 2023) compliant, and your records are portable under FHIR R4. You own your data.
Can I do a video consultation?
Yes. Many doctors offer teleconsult via secure video call. You book the same way, just select "Teleconsult" as the modality. It's ideal for follow-ups, second opinions, or when you can't travel.
