Endoscopy, Victoria Island
Gastroenterology and Endoscopy
Most stomach and bowel problems in Nigeria are treated for years without anyone looking. 'Ulcer' is managed with antacids, bleeding is assumed to be piles, and bowel cancer is found late, when it could have been a polyp removed in twenty minutes. A camera test answers the question in one visit. Ours are done as day cases in our endoscopy suite on Victoria Island, with recovery beds on site, at one all-in price paid online: sedation, the bowel preparation, any biopsy, the specialist's written report and a doctor's review of it. Nothing is paid at a counter on the day, and you leave with an answer.

How care works here
- 1
Book and pay online
One all-in price: the procedure, sedation, the preparation, any biopsy, the specialist's report and a doctor's review. No deposit at a counter, no bill that grows on the day.
- 2
Preparation, explained
The preparation is included: the centre gives it to you with its instructions when you book, and tells you which medicines to pause. A clean bowel is what makes a colonoscopy worth having.
- 3
A day case on Victoria Island
Sedation if you want it, a recovery bed afterwards, and home the same day with someone to take you.
- 4
A report you keep, and a doctor who reads it with you
The written report goes into your Mezo account, and a doctor goes through it with you by video and agrees the next step.

Questions people ask
Do I need to see a doctor before I book an endoscopy?
Not for a screening colonoscopy, and not where the reason is clear. When you book, you tell us why, and if anything about your health or your medicines needs a doctor first, we arrange it before the day.
Should I have a colonoscopy or a stool test?
A stool test for hidden blood is a reasonable first screen if you have no symptoms. If it is positive, you need a colonoscopy. If you have symptoms such as bleeding or a change in bowel habit, go straight to the colonoscopy.
Can I have both tests at once?
Yes. The Gut Check does gastroscopy and colonoscopy in one session, with one preparation, one sedation and one recovery.
Can I use my HMO?
Most HMO plans cover endoscopy only with pre-authorisation and often only at a named hospital. Our price is the cash price, paid online. Ask us first and we will tell you what your plan covers.
