Getting started on a Mezo desk
Staff at a network facility who run the billing desk, pharmacy, lab, HMO desk or nursing desk.
- 1
Accept your invitation
Your invitation email has a link to set a password of at least 12 characters. The link lasts 14 days; if it has expired, ask your manager to have it sent again.
After you sign in you land on your own desk. If it says you are not assigned to a site yet, your manager needs to ask Mezo to add you to the site.
- 2
Billing desk (cashiers)
Today's bookings shows who is due; check each patient in when they arrive. Open an encounter for each visit with the right payer: cash, HMO, package, corporate or wallet. Encounters move from open to in progress to awaiting payment to closed.
When a patient owes money, send them the Mezo pay link for the bill so they pay by card or transfer on their phone. Collections is your cash-up at the end of the day.
- 3
Pharmacy
Work the queue in order: price each prescription, wait for payment, prepare what is paid, then hand it over at the counter or send it out for delivery. Set your home-delivery fee once.
- 4
Lab
Check patients in by their code, collect samples for paid orders, then enter, verify and upload the results. Patients only see results once they are verified. Home sample collections appear under Home visits.
- 5
HMO desk
Work four lists: visits ready to claim, prior authorisations, submitted claims and ageing. Group claims into batches for each HMO, submit them, and reconcile each batch when the HMO pays.
- 6
Nursing desk
Home visits and locum shifts at your site are under those menu items. Confirm the hours worked on each locum shift, and mark a no-show if the nurse did not arrive.
