Getting started on Mezo as a nurse or midwife
Nurses and midwives registered with the NMCN who want home visits, locum shifts or surgical firm work.
- 1
Create your account
Sign up and choose nursing or midwifery, which sets the NMCN as your regulator. If we emailed you a link to claim a profile, use that instead.
Nurses are sent to patients by Mezo rather than booked from the directory, so your path is different from a doctor's.
- 2
Work through your onboarding
The steps are: the kinds of work you want (home care, locum shifts, a surgical firm), your NMCN licence, your skills, where and when you can work, the terms for each kind of work, your bank account, a short briefing with a quiz for each kind of work, and your profile.
Everything except the profile has to be finished before your dashboard opens. Your licence can be added later, but you will not be sent any work until it is verified.
- 3
Be ready for each kind of work
You become ready for each kind of work separately, once all of these are true for it:
- NMCN licence verified and in date
- Skills and your areas and hours filled in
- Terms for that kind of work signed
- Bank account verified, not just saved
- Briefing for that kind of work passed
- For a surgical firm: the firm has approved you
- 4
Take work
Home visit offers appear under Home visits. Accept or decline each one, then step through the visit on the day. Locum shifts you match appear under Shifts.
- 5
Get paid
Mezo sets the rate for each visit and shift, less withholding tax. Pay is credited to your wallet when the work is done, and you withdraw it to your bank from Billing.
Questions people ask
- Why can I only see onboarding?
- Your dashboard opens when every step except the profile is finished, including the briefing quizzes.
- I am ready but have no offers yet. Why?
- Offers go to nurses whose areas and hours match the patient. Widening your areas or hours under Where and when brings more.
