The short answer
Mezo Health lets you see a registered doctor by private video call from anywhere in Nigeria. You choose a general practitioner or physician, see their own fee before you pay online. The doctor can assess common problems, send a prescription to a partner pharmacy and order tests at a partner laboratory. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, stroke signs or collapse need a hospital now, not a video call.
Go to a hospital now if you have
Call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department now. Do not wait for a video call.
- Chest pain, pressure or tightness, especially if it spreads to the arm, neck or jaw, or comes with sweating or breathlessness
- A face drooping on one side, an arm that will not lift, or slurred or confused speech
- Breathing that is very fast or a struggle, or lips and skin turning blue, grey or blotchy (on dark skin, check the palms and soles)
- Confusion, slurred speech or not making sense, with a fever or feeling very cold and shivery
- A rash that does not fade when you press a glass on it
- A fit, a collapse, or someone who will not wake properly
- Heavy bleeding, or a serious injury
What video handles well
- Fever, cough, catarrh or sore throat, to decide what test or treatment you need
- Urine symptoms such as burning or going often
- Rashes, spots and skin changes you can show on camera
- Stomach upsets, heartburn and constipation without danger signs
- Blood pressure and diabetes reviews, using your own readings
- Going through test results and what they mean for you
- Repeat medicines the doctor judges safe to continue
- Deciding whether you need a specialist, and which one
What video cannot do
- Anything that needs hands-on examination, such as severe or worsening tummy pain, or a lump that needs to be felt
- Injections, drips, wound care and stitches
- Emergencies of any kind: see the warning signs below
- If the doctor decides on the call that you need to be seen in person, they tell you who should see you and what to bring
How it works
- 1
Choose a doctor and a time
Pick a doctor below and a free slot on their diary, and choose a video consultation. Their fee is shown before you pay.
- 2
Pay online and get a private link
You pay securely on Mezo. The video room opens once payment is confirmed, in the browser on your phone or laptop.
- 3
Talk it through and leave with a plan
The doctor takes a history, looks at what can be seen on camera, and agrees a plan with you: advice, a prescription, tests, or where to be seen in person.
Have these ready
- A quiet place with good data or Wi-Fi
- Your medicines, or photos of the packs
- Recent readings if you have them: blood pressure, sugar, temperature
- Any test results or hospital letters, as photos

Questions people ask
How much does an online doctor consultation cost in Nigeria?
Each doctor sets their own video fee, shown on their button before you pay. The lowest on Mezo right now is ₦5,000. Medicines and tests are separate, and each is priced before you pay for it.
Is there a free online doctor consultation?
Not on Mezo. Every consultation is with a registered doctor whose time is paid for. In return you get a named doctor, and the fee on the screen before you pay.
Can an online doctor prescribe medicine, including antibiotics?
Yes, when the doctor judges it right for you. The prescription is written on Mezo and can go to a partner pharmacy. Many coughs, colds and sore throats are caused by viruses that antibiotics do not treat, so the doctor may advise a test or a wait-and-see plan instead.
How do I get my medicine?
When the doctor sends your prescription to a partner pharmacy, the pharmacy prices it and you pay on Mezo. You then collect it at the counter with a pickup code, or have it delivered where the pharmacy offers delivery.
Can the doctor order tests?
Yes. Tests are ordered on Mezo at a partner laboratory and priced from that lab's own list before you pay. You then visit the lab, or have the sample collected at home where that is offered.
How soon can I be seen?
At the first free time on the doctor's diary, which you see before you book. If none suits you, ask for a call back and a care coordinator will find you a time.
Do I need to download an app?
No. The video call opens in the browser on your phone or laptop. You need a camera, a microphone and a data connection.
What if the doctor says I need to be seen in person?
They tell you what kind of doctor or test you need and how soon. You can book that through Mezo, or ask for a call back and a coordinator arranges it.
