The short answer
Mezo Health lets you talk to a registered gynaecologist by private video call from anywhere in Nigeria, with their own fee shown before you pay. Video suits heavy or painful periods, irregular cycles, PCOS, fibroid questions, menopause and going through scan results. Pregnancy with heavy bleeding, severe tummy pain, shoulder tip pain or fainting needs a hospital now.
Go to a hospital now if you
Call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department now. Do not wait for a video call.
- Are or might be pregnant and have a sharp, sudden, severe pain in your tummy
- Are pregnant with vaginal bleeding and severe tummy pain, pain in the tip of the shoulder, or you feel faint, dizzy or pass out
- Are bleeding so heavily from the vagina that a pad is soaked soon after you put it on
- Have pelvic pain that is severe, getting worse or hurts when you move, especially with heavy bleeding
- Have pelvic pain with a very high temperature, shivering, vomiting or feeling very unwell
Be seen in person today if you
These are not emergencies, but the NHS advises urgent help. A gynaecologist on video can tell you where to go.
- Are pregnant with light bleeding or spotting
- Are pregnant with unusual discharge, or fluid leaking from the vagina
- Have pelvic pain that comes and goes, with discharge, fever or pain during sex
Book an examination soon if you have
The NHS advises that these are checked in person, even when they seem small.
- Any bleeding after the menopause, even a small amount, even once
- Bleeding between periods or after sex
What video handles well
- Heavy, painful or irregular periods
- Fibroids: what your scan means, and the choices from medicine to surgery
- PCOS, and the acne, weight and unwanted hair that can come with it
- Menopause symptoms and your options
- Choosing contraception, and what to expect from each method
- Vaginal discharge or itching that keeps coming back
- Trying for a baby: when to test, and which tests to do first
- Going through scan, smear and blood test results
What video cannot do
- An internal (pelvic) examination, a smear test, or swabs taken by the doctor
- An ultrasound scan, which is done at a diagnostic centre: bring the report to the call
- Fitting or removing a coil or an implant
- Bleeding after the menopause, even once: the NHS advises having it checked, which usually means a scan and an examination
- Emergencies of any kind: see the warning signs below

Questions people ask
How much does it cost to see a gynaecologist in Nigeria?
Each gynaecologist sets their own video fee, shown on their button before you pay. The lowest on Mezo right now is ₦15,000. Medicines and tests are separate, and each is priced before you pay for it.
How do I consult a gynaecologist online?
Choose a gynaecologist on this page, pick a free time and pay their fee online. The video room opens in your browser once payment is confirmed, so there is nothing to download.
Can I choose a female gynaecologist?
Each gynaecologist's name is on their card, so you can choose who you see. If you would rather a care coordinator found you a female gynaecologist, ask for a call back and say so.
Can a gynaecologist on video help with fibroids?
Yes, with most of the decision. They read your scan with you, advise on medicines that ease heavy bleeding, and tell you whether surgery is worth considering. An operation is only planned after an examination in person.
Is the call private?
The video room is opened for your appointment only, between you and the gynaecologist. Take the call somewhere you will not be overheard, and use headphones if you can.
Do I need a referral to see a gynaecologist on Mezo?
No. You can book a gynaecologist directly. If another doctor has written to you or done tests, bring the letter and results as photos.
Can the gynaecologist prescribe and order tests?
Yes, when it is right for you. A prescription is written on Mezo and can go to a partner pharmacy, where you pay on Mezo and collect it with a pickup code or have it delivered where the pharmacy delivers. Tests are ordered at a partner laboratory and priced from its own list before you pay.
What if the gynaecologist says I need to be seen in person?
They tell you what examination, scan or procedure you need, how soon, and where. You can book it through Mezo, or ask for a call back and a care coordinator arranges it.
Something feels seriously wrong right now. What do I do?
Call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department now. Do not wait for a video call.
