Brain Tumour Surgery at Mezo Health in Lagos, Nigeria is priced in a written quote after a consultation from ₦50,000, because the right operation and its cost depend on what the surgeon finds. Prices last checked 3 November 2026.
In a craniotomy, a neurosurgeon opens a small window in the skull to remove as much of a brain tumour as can be taken out safely, then puts the bone back. Some tumours can be removed completely; others are only partly removed, or sampled with a biopsy, and treated afterwards with radiotherapy or chemotherapy. It is planned around an MRI scan and done by a neurosurgical team with intensive care beside the theatre. Mezo does not run a heart or brain surgery unit. The surgeon who reviews your case tells you where the operation can be done safely, in Nigeria or elsewhere, and why.

Every operation carries risk. A surgeon who lists none is not being straight with you. Yours will go through these with you before you consent.
Questions people ask
Can brain tumour surgery be done in Nigeria?
Yes. Nigeria has trained neurosurgeons who operate on brain tumours. Whether your operation should be done here depends on the tumour and on the team and intensive care available, and the surgeon who reviews your case will tell you honestly.
Is every brain tumour cancer?
No. Many, such as most meningiomas, are not cancer, but they can still cause harm by pressing on the brain. The MRI and the tissue result tell the type.
Why is there no price on this page?
Because the operation, the time in intensive care and the treatment after it differ widely from one tumour to another. You get a written quote from the operating team before admission.
