What happens on the course
Your first session is with an MDCN-registered psychiatrist, who checks the course is right for you and agrees the plan. Progress is checked with stress, burnout and mood questionnaires at the start and the end, so you can see the change.
- 01A one-to-one check with a psychiatrist, separating burnout from depression or anxiety
- 02What chronic stress does to the body, and how to recover from it
- 03Sleep and rest that actually restore you
- 04Workload and boundaries at work and at home that you can keep
- 05A return-to-energy plan, and a check that it is working
Questions about Burnout to Balance
Read first: Burnout and Work Stress · Depression
Is burnout the same as depression?
Not always, but they overlap. The course starts with a psychiatrist, who checks for depression or anxiety, because they need different treatment.
Can my employer pay for it?
We are setting up places employers can buy for their staff. The employer would never see who attended or what was discussed.
Will I have to stop working?
Usually not. The course is built around working life, with sessions by video at times that fit.
