Reset: calming a nervous system on high alert
You are wired and always on edge. Your heart races, your chest is tight, you sleep badly and cannot switch off. You do not need a diagnosis to join.
Group or One to one · an assessment, 6 weekly sessions and a review
What happens
- 1A one-to-one assessment with a psychiatrist, including what is driving it: stress, anxiety, past events, sleep, alcohol or a medical cause
- 2What stress does in the body, and why the alarm is not dangerous
- 3Slow, paced breathing and muscle relaxation, practised every day between sessions
- 4Sleep, and the habits that keep the body switched on at night
- 5The thought patterns that keep the alarm going
- 6A plan for the hard days, and a review two weeks after the last session
Stress and anxiety questionnaires at the start and the end.
