Urinalysis and urine M/C/S price in Nigeria
A urinalysis costs ₦12,000 on Mezo, paid online and done at a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site. The laboratory looks at your urine by eye, with a dipstick and under a microscope, for blood, protein, sugar and signs of infection. Urine microscopy, culture and sensitivity (urine M/C/S), which grows any germ and shows which antibiotics work against it, is ₦18,000.

What the test is for
A urinalysis is a quick check that can point to an infection, kidney trouble or diabetes. A culture takes longer, because the germ has to grow, but it is the test that tells the doctor which antibiotic will work. It matters most when infections keep coming back or a first antibiotic has not helped.
When a doctor asks for it
- Burning or pain when passing urine, or needing to go often
- Blood in the urine
- Diabetes, high blood pressure or kidney disease, to check for protein
- In pregnancy
- A culture when urine infections keep coming back, in men, in pregnancy, or when antibiotics have not worked
How to prepare
- Collect a clean midstream sample in the sterile container the site gives you: wash your hands, start passing urine into the toilet, then catch the middle part in the container.
- Where you can, give the sample before you start an antibiotic.

How do I get my result?
When the laboratory has checked and released your result, we send you a text message and you read it on Mezo, signed in to your account. If a doctor on Mezo asked for the test, they see it too. Mezo does not promise a result time on this page, because it depends on the test and the site.
