The short answer
On Mezo, each doctor sets their own consultation fee, and it is shown on their card before you book, so you choose a doctor whose fee suits you. GP consultations are the most affordable; specialists charge more. MezoCare members see their member price on the booking page where one applies. The payment page shows the full amount, including any card processing fee, before you pay, and any Mezo credit you hold is used first. Tests and medicines the doctor orders are priced separately, before you pay for them. You can move a booking free of charge up to 12 hours before, and cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before.

What you pay for
A video consultation fee covers the doctor's time and advice. Within it the doctor can:
- Take a full history and look at you on camera
- Write an e-prescription when it is the right treatment, sent to a partner pharmacy
- Order tests at a partner laboratory, or at home in Lagos
- Write a referral to a specialist or a hospital when you need one
- Arrange a follow-up when your problem needs one
What is priced separately
Medicines and tests are not part of the consultation fee. Each is priced by the pharmacy or laboratory from its own list, and you see the price before you pay. Nothing is added after the call without your agreement.
Moving and cancelling
You can move a video consultation free of charge up to 12 hours before it starts, and cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before. Later changes cost a quarter of the fee, and your first late move in a year is free. Refunds come back as Mezo credit or to your card, your choice, and you get a full refund if the doctor or Mezo cancels.
Go to a hospital now, not a call
Cost should never decide whether you go to an emergency department. Chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden weakness of the face or a limb, a fit, confusion or heavy bleeding need a hospital now, or a call to 112.
Common questions
Is an online consultation cheaper than a hospital visit?
Often, once you count transport, time off work and waiting. The consultation fee itself depends on the doctor you choose, and is shown before you book.
Do MezoCare members pay less?
Where a member price applies, the booking page shows it next to the usual fee before you pay.
Can I pay by bank transfer?
Yes. The payment page offers transfer and card, and shows the full amount before you pay.
