Pregnancy blood test price in Nigeria
A pregnancy blood test (beta hCG) costs ₦22,000 on Mezo, paid online and done at a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site. It measures hCG, the pregnancy hormone, in your blood. For most women a home urine test from the first day of a missed period answers the yes-or-no question; a blood test is for when a doctor needs the hormone level itself. The price list also carries a standard pregnancy test at ₦10,000.

What the test is for
The body starts making hCG around 6 days after fertilisation. A positive home test is almost always right; a negative one is less reliable, especially if it was done too early. A blood test measures the amount of hCG, and a doctor may repeat it to see how the level changes.
When a doctor asks for it
- A home test result that is unclear, or a negative test with no period
- Bleeding or pain in early pregnancy, where the doctor needs to rule out an ectopic pregnancy
- After a miscarriage, or during fertility treatment
How to prepare
- No fasting. Eat and drink as normal.
Go to the nearest emergency department now, not a lab, for
- Sudden, sharp and severe tummy pain in early pregnancy
- Feeling very dizzy or fainting
- Pain in the tip of the shoulder with bleeding or tummy pain

How soon can a pregnancy test show positive?
Most tests work from the first day of a missed period. If you do not know when your period is due, test at least 21 days after the last unprotected sex.
Can I pay at the lab?
No. You tick the test on Mezo, choose a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site that does it and pay online before you go. The price you pay is the price on this page, and the site has your order waiting when you arrive.
How do I get my result?
When the laboratory has checked and released your result, we send you a text message and you read it on Mezo, signed in to your account. If a doctor on Mezo asked for the test, they see it too. Mezo does not promise a result time on this page, because it depends on the test and the site.
