Kidney function test price in Nigeria
A kidney function test (electrolytes, urea and creatinine, often written E/U/Cr) costs ₦24,000 on Mezo, paid online and done at a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site. It measures salts such as sodium and potassium, with urea and creatinine, which the kidneys clear from the blood. From your creatinine, age and sex a doctor can estimate your eGFR, a measure of how well the kidneys filter.

What the test is for
Kidney disease often has no symptoms in its early stages, which is why people at higher risk are tested regularly rather than waiting to feel unwell. A blood test is usually paired with a urine test, because protein or blood in the urine gives a fuller picture of how the kidneys are working.
When a doctor asks for it
- High blood pressure or diabetes, as a regular check
- Heart disease, or a past sudden kidney injury
- Swollen ankles, feet or hands, tiredness, or passing urine more at night
- Blood in the urine
- Before and during some medicines, and after severe vomiting or diarrhoea
How to prepare
- No fasting is needed for a kidney function test on its own.
- Take your usual medicines unless your doctor has told you otherwise.

How do I get my result?
When the laboratory has checked and released your result, we send you a text message and you read it on Mezo, signed in to your account. If a doctor on Mezo asked for the test, they see it too. Mezo does not promise a result time on this page, because it depends on the test and the site.
