Choosing for darker skin
Peels, microneedling and lasers can leave dark marks on darker skin if chosen or set badly. Treatments and settings are chosen with that in mind.

Treatment
Most treatments take under an hour. Thread lifts are done by a doctor only.

A check after treatment, and a plan for maintenance where the treatment wears off.
Recovery, realistically
Anti-wrinkle
Starts to work in a few days, full effect in about two weeks, and usually lasts three to four months.
Fillers
Swelling for a few days. Lasts months to more than a year depending on the product and the area.
Peels and microneedling
Redness and peeling for a few days. Strict sun protection afterwards.
Threads
Swelling and tightness for a week or two.
Risks you should be told about
- Bruising and swelling at injection sites
- Asymmetry, or a temporary drooping eyelid after anti-wrinkle injections
- Lumps after filler, and rarely filler blocking a blood vessel, which is an emergency and why it should only be done by trained clinicians
- Dark marks after peels or microneedling, a particular risk on darker skin
- Infection

Are these treatments safe on dark skin?
Yes, when chosen and set for dark skin. Peels and microneedling carry a risk of dark marks, which is managed by the choice of treatment and by sun protection afterwards.
