Breast reduction in Lagos

Breast tissue, fat and skin are removed to make the breasts smaller, lighter and higher. For many women it is less about appearance than neck and back pain, bra-strap grooves and rashes under the breast.

All-in package

From ₦10,000,000, all-in

Breast reduction, all-in

Your final figure is a written quote after consultation, covering surgeon, theatre, anaesthesia, stay, garments and reviews.

What the price covers

  • The surgeon, the anaesthetist and the theatre
  • Where the operation takes place, named in writing
  • Garments, dressings, medication and your review appointments, priced into the number rather than added afterwards

What it does not cover

  • Anything not listed in the written quote, which is costed for you before you decide rather than after
  • Travel and accommodation if you are coming from outside Lagos

What would change this price

  • How much tissue is removed
  • The scar pattern needed (vertical or anchor)
  • Liposuction of the sides of the chest
  • Nights in hospital

HMO plans in Nigeria generally treat cosmetic surgery as excluded. If you believe yours may contribute, ask the HMO before the consultation and bring the answer in writing.

Who this is for

  • Neck, back or shoulder pain from the weight of the breasts
  • Deep grooves from bra straps, or rashes under the breasts
  • Difficulty exercising or finding clothes that fit
  • Breasts out of proportion to the rest of your body

When it is not the right answer

  • Planning to breastfeed soon, as the operation can affect it
  • Current smokers
  • Anyone whose weight is still changing significantly

The pathway, step by step

  1. 1

    Consultation with Dr Kpaduwa₦150,000

Thirty minutes with the surgeon herself, by video. You bring your goals, your history and photographs; she tells you what is involved, what she would and would not do, and whether you should be doing anything at all.

  2. 2

    Examination and a written quote

An in-person examination in Lagos, then a written quote that says what is included and what is not. Costings come from the team in writing, not from the surgeon in the room.

  3. 3

Screening before a date is offered

Nicotine, medicines, blood pressure, and whether your weight is still changing all affect safety and timing. The clinical team reads your answers before anyone offers you a date.

  4. 4

    The operation

Under general anaesthetic. The nipple is moved up on its own blood supply and the excess tissue removed. A vertical (lollipop) scar suits smaller reductions; an anchor (Wise) pattern larger ones.

  5. 5

    Recovery and reviews

A support bra, and named follow-up while the wounds heal.

Recovery, realistically

Week 1

Soreness and swelling. Most people feel the weight relief straight away.

Weeks 1 to 2

Back to desk work for most people.

Week 6 onwards

Exercise returns. Scars fade over a year or more.

Risks you should be told about

  • Changes in nipple sensation
  • Breastfeeding may not be possible afterwards
  • Slow healing where the scars meet
  • Scars that widen or, on keloid-prone skin, thicken
  • Asymmetry
  • Firm lumps of fat that has not survived (fat necrosis), and very rarely loss of the nipple

Every operation carries risk. A surgeon who lists none is not being straight with you. Yours will go through these with you before you consent.

Questions people ask

How much does a breast reduction cost in Lagos?

From ₦10,000,000, all-in (Breast reduction). Your final figure is a written quote after consultation, covering surgeon, theatre, anaesthesia, stay, garments and reviews. Her video consultation is ₦150,000 and is put towards the total if you go ahead.

Where are the scars?

Around the areola and straight down to the fold under the breast, and for larger reductions along the fold as well. They are hidden by a bra or swimwear.

Will I be able to breastfeed?

Some women can and some cannot. If breastfeeding matters to you, say so: it is a reason to discuss the timing.

Will my HMO pay for it?

Most Nigerian HMO plans treat breast reduction as cosmetic, even when it is done for pain. Ask yours in writing before you plan around it.

Prices shown are in naira and were last checked on 7 October 2026. A “from” price is the all-in starting price for the standard case. Every operation is confirmed in a written quote after your consultation, because the right operation for you, and its cost, depend on what the surgeon finds.
