Revision and corrective plastic surgery in Lagos

When an earlier operation has left a result you are unhappy with, or a problem that has not settled, the first step is an honest assessment, not another operation. Dr Kpaduwa looks at what was done and how it has healed, then tells you what can be improved, when, and what cannot. Planned revision waits until the tissues have settled, usually some months after the first operation, unless something needs attention sooner.

How the price is set

Written quote after consultation

Consultation with Dr Kpaduwa, 30 minutes by video: ₦150,000

Put towards the total cost of your surgery if you go ahead.

Your price is a written quote after the consultation, because it depends on what needs correcting and whether it is done in one stage or more. It does not move without your written agreement.

What your written quote covers

  • The surgeon, the anaesthetist and the theatre
  • Where the operation takes place, named in writing
  • Garments, dressings, medication and your review appointments, priced into the number rather than added afterwards

Not in the quote

  • Anything not listed in the written quote, which is costed for you before you decide rather than after
  • Travel and accommodation if you are coming from outside Lagos

What decides your quote

  • What needs correcting, and how many areas
  • Removing, exchanging or repositioning implants
  • Scar tissue from the first operation, which makes revision slower than a first operation
  • One stage or several

HMO plans in Nigeria generally exclude correcting cosmetic surgery. Treating an acute complication, such as an infection, may be looked at differently, so ask your HMO in writing.

Who this is for

  • Dents, lumps or unevenness after liposuction
  • A tummy tuck scar that sits high or shows, loose skin left behind, bulges at the ends of the scar, or a belly button you are unhappy with
  • Breasts that are uneven after surgery, or implants that have moved, hardened, rippled or that you want out
  • A scar from an operation that healed wide, tight or raised
  • A result that does not match what you agreed to before the first operation

When it is not the right answer

  • Swelling in the first weeks and months, which often settles on its own and is assessed before anything is planned
  • A new or worsening problem after recent surgery, such as fever, spreading redness, a wound opening, discharge, or an implant showing through the skin, which needs care today rather than a planned consultation
  • Chasing a perfect result with operation after operation. You are told when another one is unlikely to help
  • Current smokers, in whom scarred tissue heals poorly

The pathway, step by step

  1. 1

    Consultation with Dr Kpaduwa₦150,000

Thirty minutes with the surgeon herself, by video. You bring your goals, your history and photographs; she tells you what is involved, what she would and would not do, and whether you should be doing anything at all.

  2. 2

    Bring what you have

The operation note or discharge letter, any implant card, and photographs from before and after the first operation. Missing records do not stop the assessment; they just make it more precise.

  3. 3

    The right time

Most planned revision waits until swelling has gone and scars have softened, often six to twelve months after the first operation. Some problems are better dealt with sooner, and you are told which yours is.

  4. 4

    Examination and a written quote

An in-person examination in Lagos, then a written quote that says what is included and what is not. Costings come from the team in writing, not from the surgeon in the room.

  5. 5

Screening before a date is offered

Nicotine, medicines, blood pressure, and whether your weight is still changing all affect safety and timing. The clinical team reads your answers before anyone offers you a date.

  6. 6

    The operation

Under local or general anaesthetic depending on what is being corrected, sometimes in stages.

  7. 7

    Recovery and reviews

Garments or a support bra where needed, and named follow-up.

Recovery, realistically

Weeks 1 to 2

Much like the first operation: swelling, soreness and a garment or bra where needed.

Weeks 2 to 6

Back to desk work for most people within this window, depending on what was done.

Months 3 to 12

Revised tissue settles more slowly than after a first operation, so the final result takes longer to show.

Risks you should be told about

  • A result that is improved but not perfect, because scar tissue and an altered blood supply limit what revision can do
  • Slow wound healing, more likely in tissue that has been operated on before
  • Needing a further stage
  • The risks of the procedure being revised, which are on that procedure's page

Every operation carries risk. A surgeon who lists none is not being straight with you. Yours will go through these with you before you consent.

Questions people ask

How much does revision plastic surgery cost in Lagos?

Dr Kpaduwa's price is a written quote after the consultation, because it depends on what needs correcting, what the first operation changed and how many stages are needed. Her video consultation is ₦150,000 and is put towards the total if you go ahead.

How soon after my first operation can it be corrected?

For most planned revision, once the tissues have settled, often six to twelve months later. Sooner if something is not healing or an implant is at risk. Early review is never wasted: it tells you which you are.

Will she comment on the surgeon who did my first operation?

No. The assessment is about your body and what can be done now. Records from the first operation help, and are asked for for that reason only.

I had surgery abroad and now have a problem at home. Can I be seen?

Yes. Bring whatever records you have. If the problem is urgent, such as fever, a wound opening or discharge, get care today at an emergency department rather than waiting for a consultation.

What if nothing should be done?

Then you are told so, and why. Sometimes the honest answer is to wait, to try a non-surgical option first, or to leave a result alone.

Prices shown are in naira and were last checked on 13 October 2026. A “from” price is the all-in starting price for the standard case. Every operation is confirmed in a written quote after your consultation, because the right operation for you, and its cost, depend on what the surgeon finds.
