The pathway, step by step

Thirty minutes with the surgeon herself, by video. You bring your goals, your history and photographs; she tells you what is involved, what she would and would not do, and whether you should be doing anything at all.

An in-person examination in Lagos, then a written quote that says what is included and what is not. Costings come from the team in writing, not from the surgeon in the room.

Screening before a date is offered
Nicotine, medicines, blood pressure, and whether your weight is still changing all affect safety and timing. The clinical team reads your answers before anyone offers you a date.

Under general anaesthetic or deep sedation, usually with one night of observation.

A head dressing for the first day, stitches out within about a week, then reviews.

- A blood collection under the skin, the commonest complication, more likely with high blood pressure
- Injury to a facial nerve, usually temporary weakness of part of the face
- Scars around the ears that widen or, on keloid-prone skin, thicken
- Hair thinning near the incisions
- Skin healing problems, much more likely in smokers
- Asymmetry

Can I get the same result without surgery?
Not for jowls or a loose neck. Anti-wrinkle injections, fillers and threads help lines, volume and early laxity, and their prices are published here. They do not reposition tissue the way surgery does.
Will people know I have had work done?
The aim is that they will not. Her published position, over two years of writing, is that the point is to look like yourself.
How long does a facelift last?
Ageing continues, but the face stays younger than it would have been. Many people are content for ten years or more.
