Prostate scan price in Nigeria
A prostate ultrasound scan costs ₦25,000 on Mezo, paid online and done at a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site. It measures the size of the prostate, the gland under the bladder that often grows with age. It cannot tell on its own whether there is cancer: that starts with a PSA blood test (₦34,500) and a doctor's examination.

What it is for
An enlarged prostate is common in older men and can cause a weak stream, getting up at night to pass urine and a feeling that the bladder has not emptied. An enlarged prostate is not caused by prostate cancer and does not raise your risk of it.
When prostate cancer is suspected, NICE advises an MRI scan as the first scan, with a biopsy if it is needed. An ultrasound measures the prostate, but it is not the test that rules cancer in or out.

How to prepare
- Call the site before you go and ask how the scan is done there and how to prepare. A transrectal scan uses a slim probe placed in the back passage; you can ask for a chaperone, and ask for it to stop at any time.

Done at the site, not at home
A prostate scan is booked at a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site and done there, on the site's own machine. It is not collected at home: home collection on Mezo is for blood samples only. Call the site before you go to ask how to prepare and when to come; its number is on its city page.

How much is a prostate scan in Nigeria?
₦25,000 on Mezo, and a PSA blood test is ₦34,500. Both are paid online and done at a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site.
Does a prostate scan show cancer?
Not on its own. A raised PSA or a doctor's examination leads to an MRI scan and, if needed, a biopsy. A urologist can explain your results by video.
Can I pay at the lab?
No. You tick the test on Mezo, choose a BeaconHealth Diagnostics site that does it and pay online before you go. The price you pay is the price on this page, and the site has your order waiting when you arrive.
How do I get my result?
When the laboratory has checked and released your result, we send you a text message and you read it on Mezo, signed in to your account. If a doctor on Mezo asked for the test, they see it too. Mezo does not promise a result time on this page, because it depends on the test and the site.
